Alumni Newsletter - HFAA Connect Vol.4 September 2018

Message from ALC President

Dear Alumni and Friends,

It has been a rewarding month for Hinrich Foundation and HFAA. In September, the Foundation held a successful introduction of the Sustainable Trade Index 2018 in the Philippines, a welcome dinner for new Global Trade Leader scholars in Hong Kong, and training events in Cambodia and Vietnam.

Thanks to the support of our dedicated alumni and team, the Foundation has also selected eight new Global Trade Leader scholars for the academic year. Soon, we will announce an additional four scholars who will begin classes this September.

We are delighted to welcome this batch of exceptional students to our community. As the President of HFAA, I have been most excited to meet these like-minded individuals dedicated to making a positive impact in the world through trade. Out of hundreds of applications, we chose aspiring leaders who stood out beyond their list of accomplishments – they displayed intellectual curiosity, dedication to growth, and strong character.

On behalf of the Alumni Association, I wish all new and current scholars an enriching, memorable year ahead.

As an Alumnus, I know the difficulties of navigating a new country far away from family, friends, and all that is familiar. However, in the face of these challenges, the opportunity to build new friendships and experience growth is multiplied.

Thus, I would like to call on our alumni to offer mentorship to incoming scholars in their home country during this formative time. To access a list of scholars in your area and their contact information, click here.

Should you have suggestions on how the Alumni Association can better support alumni or current scholars, we would love your feedback! Please do not hesitate to contact me or any member of the Alumni Leadership Committee.

We look forward to hearing from you.

Best regards,

Mohammad Nurun Nobi
