Alumni Newsletter - HFAA Connect Vol.9 February 2019

Message from ALC President

Dear alumni and friends,

After a full weekend of strategic planning and fellowship in Hong Kong, the energy of the new year continues as exciting new initiatives and concrete action plans are now being implemented.

In Hong Kong, we joined the first session of the Professional Development Series 2019 with our alumni, where we gained insights from experts on financial planning and international trade law.  Financial planning is something we can all benefit from personally, so be sure to check when the series lands in your city!

Scholars, partners, and international students alike were captivated by the Hinrich Trade Negotiation Simulation, where participants impressed the audience with their depth of knowledge surrounding pertinent international issues. Everyone also had a chance to catch up and relax at the welcome reception held at the Hong Kong Maritime Museum in the evening.

To our scholars Saiful Alam Saiket (Bangladesh, HKPolyU IPE ’20) and Froland Tajale (Philippines, HKBU MScMar ’20), we welcome you and wish you all the best in your journey.

To echo what Phoebe said at the reception, the four stages of the Global Trade Leader program – ASPIRING, LEARNING, GROWING and LEADING – are not linear. They are a cycle! I look forward to experiencing these stages with my fellow alumni on my path of lifelong learning and development.

Looking forward to a fruitful year for HFAA and wishing all the alumni the best.

Mohammad Nurun Nobi (Bangladesh, HKPolyU IPE ‘16)

 President, Alumni Leadership Committee
