Hinrich Foundation organized Communication for Success, a seminar in Phnom Penh, Cambodia on 1st September 2018. The event attracted over 80 participants eager to improve their communication skills in an international context. The impressive turn-out was way beyond expectation, and a number of people were unfortunately refused entry, due to the venue limited capacity.

Students engaged in workshops with real-life scenarios, gaining important skills for a global trade career.

The event was attended by Mr. Alex Boome, Program Director, Hinrich Foundation and its university and industry partners, including Mrs. Ulrike Schmittner, Head of Student Affairs, Vietnamese German University (VGU) ; and Dr. Volker Steimle, Head of Strategy & University Development, Vietnamese German University; Ms. Catherine Martin and Jen Tio from Suntex.

Alex Boome shared with the audience  his 25 years of experience working in B2B marketing and international organization, and his key to success is effective communications both internally and externally.

The audience also learned from the German staff of VGU, who introduce the university's leading position in English-taught engineering programs, with cooperation with German universities.

Jen Tio also shared the international workplace in Suntex, an affiliate of Luenthai, a Hong Kong based company with operations in many countries in Asia and clients from well-known luxury brands. Suntex is looking to develop its local workforce in Cambodia by providing full scholarship for students to study at Vietnamese German University.

The event was concluded by a heated Q&A session between the guest speakers and the audience.
