New Alumni Leadership Committee elected

2nd Alumni Leadership Committee convened in Hong Kong 9-10 March 2018 for a strategic planning meeting & election

Mohammad Nurun Nobi (alumnus from Bangladesh) was elected as the Committee President, Phoebe Lu (alumna from China) and Celeste Zeng (alumna from China) were elected as Vice Presidents. 

 

HONG KONG, Mar.12, 2018 – 11 outstanding alumni from 7 countries (China, the Philippines, Vietnam, Bangladesh, Cambodia, Myanmar and India) were invited to Hong Kong to attend the Alumni Leadership Committee Strategic Meeting & Election together with the 1st Alumni Leadership Committee representatives and the Hinrich Foundation management team and program team.

The purposes of the meeting are to develop 2018-19 strategy and action plan and elect 2nd Alumni Leadership Committee (ALC).

The delegates discussed 4 core areas of the Hinrich Foundation Alumni Association, which are Career Development, Skills Development, Scholar Engagement & Recruitment. 

The meeting was successfully concluded with a concrete action plan for the Alumni Association for the next 2 years and a country plan for each alumni chapter under the leadership of the 2nd Alumni Leadership Committee.

The meeting was also attended and moderated by Mr. Merle A. Hinrich, Founder of the Hinrich Foundation; Spenser Au, a Hinrich Foundation board member and the Hinrich Foundation management team and the Trade Career Development program team.

In addition to the meeting, Mr. Merle A. Hinrich hosted a Welcome Reception at the Aberdeen Marina Club on the Friday night (Mar.9) before the meeting, reiterated the mission of the Foundation in Promoting Sustainable Global Trade and the importance of the Alumni Association in carrying on the mission to perpetuity.

At the Gala Dinner after the meeting at the Hong Kong Golf Club, the alumni delegate welcomed 3 special guests – the Honorary Hinrich Global Trade Leaders, who are senior executives and leaders in their trade-oriented companies/organizations particularly those belonging in footwear, apparel, sourcing, logistics and consultancy industries, and have made lifelong careers in promoting the global trade sector.
