University orientation

Internship & Job placement

Work integrated learning (WIL) is the approach that Hinrich Foundation and its partners provide towards each scholarship. The WIL approach includes, besides academic degrees, professional work experiences between study periods and a career upon graduation. This equips scholars with not only a career-oriented study and practical skills for the international trade industry, but also best prepare them to add value to companies right when they start work.

After finishing the semester 2 at VGU, you will go back to your home country to start the work placement in between studies with your sponsor company for 3 months.

You then will go back to Vietnam to finish the Year 2 of your studies.

You are encouraged to intern again at the sponsor’s factory to work on a practical industrial issue of the factory for your Master thesis during semester 4.

Internship relocation allowance

Your sponsor company will cover the round trip airfares for your internship relocation. This includes the airfare to go from Vietnam to the assigned internship location (mostly your home country) to start the internship and then go back to Vietnam for the semester 3 after the internship.

If you want to travel somewhere outside the itinerary above, you need to discuss and get the agreement from the Sponsor. Extra costs incurred are at your expenses.

Visa extension

In late June or early July of the first academic year (one month before your summer internship), you should contact the VGU coordinator to proceed your visa extension. This will help prevent you from going back and forth between Vietnam and your home country during your internship to extend the visa.
