Program structure

The GPEM Program is structured in five module groups Production, Engineering, Management, Intercultural Communication and Special Profile.

In order to complete the program, you have to reach 120 credit points according to the European Credit Transfer System (ECTS). An average of 30 credit points is achieved for each of the three first semesters, adding up to a total of 90 credit points.

Additionally, the summer internship has to be completed for 12 credit points. Towards the end of the program, a Master thesis has to be written (18 credit points).

After completing the GPEM-Program, you will be awarded with the degree certificate "Master of Science in Global Production Engineering" from the Technical University of Berlin.

You may have the possibility to participate in a competition for doing your Master Thesis in Berlin for a period of four months. In that case, you will choose one of the thesis topics assigned by TU Berlin, writing and presenting your proposal for the topic in front of a committee from VGU and TU Berlin. You will need to compete with other students choosing the same topic to win the scholarship to Berlin.

Work-integrated learning: Internship in-between studies

Work integrated learning (WIL) is the approach that Hinrich Foundation and its partners provide towards each scholarship. The WIL approach includes, besides academic degrees, professional work experiences between study periods and a career upon graduation. This equips scholars with not only a career-oriented study and practical skills for the international trade industry, but also best prepare them to add value to companies right when they start work.

Life at VGU

VGU and its establishments are located in Binh Duong New City. As its name, this is a newly developed complex with well-planned infrastructure, sparse population and high security.

The best thing about the life at VGU is low living cost compared to that of the neighbor city - Ho Chi Minh. The University also provides the students with some subsidy/ free services to create the best environment for both study and extra-curricular activities. However, it may be a bit inconvenient to go around if you do not have your own motorbike.
