Megan Thomas is Content Manager for the Hinrich Foundation’s Export Assistance Program in Manila. She oversees the editorial production of sourcing reports to assist global buyers in sourcing more effectively from suppliers in developing Asia. She also assists with marketing, scholarship administration and site administration for the organization.
Thomas was the Foundation’s first American scholar to study journalism, receiving a Master of Arts in Global Business Journalism from Tsinghua University in Beijing in 2013, along with the Certificate for Excellent Student Thesis.
She received her bachelor’s degrees in English Literature and Journalism and Mass Communication from Arizona State University in 2010. She has worked as a journalist and editor for organizations including China Daily, msnbc.com, The Arizona Republic and the Associated Press.
Learning about new ideas, cultures and perspectives is deeply fulfilling to Thomas. She consumes media as avidly as she produces it, enjoying news, literature, movies, television, video games, photography and art. Like many in the Hinrich Foundation, she loves to travel and has been to 21 countries.
