Laura Xiao is the head of Market Development for Gifts and Home Products for Global Sources. She directly leads a project team of six and indirectly manages a sales team of around 300 members with an aim to revive the business and bring about positive growth.
Xiao’s main responsibilities include setting the strategic directions, developing and implementing business strategies in service offering, pricing, sales and sales management, marketing, and business development for the sector.
Her previous work experience includes working as Assistant General Manager for FashionSZshow at Global Sources, Executive Assistant to the CEO of Global Sources, Business Development Manager for Greater China at R. Belda Llorens S. A., and Overseas Operation Manager at the Shanghai Dragon Group Operation.
Xiao began her relationship with the Hinrich Foundation in 2008 when it co-sponsored a full-tuition scholarship for her Master of Business Administration degree at Thunderbird School of Global Management. While enrolled, Xiao served as the President of Thunderbird Finance Association and Vice President of Thunderbird Great China Club.
Living in Hong Kong, she loves traveling to see and experience more of the world. She speaks four languages and has traveled to 12 countries. Traveling has enabled her to see things with a broader perspective and better interact with people from different cultural backgrounds. She believes that the more she understands the world, the better she can offer help to others and make the world a better place.
