Khiem Vu is a scholar of the Hinrich Foundation, twice. He represents the very first batch of Vietnamese scholars, studying Master of Arts in International Journalism Studies at Hong Kong Baptist University in 2007. His second postgraduate degree will be a Master of Business Administration in General Management at the Chinese University of Hong Kong.
He is undergoing an internship at Global Sources, which empowers him to work on a new initiative called Startup Launchpad. It engages him to help hardware startup community in Hong Kong and Pearl River Delta to scale up and be sustainable through global trade.
Vu is going to complete his final term through an exchange program at the University of Michigan. He is taking it as a challenge despite being away from his family, friends and colleagues, and experiencing a colder climate.
He also led the Hinrich Foundation’s Export Assistance Program for seven years where he proudly engaged with a number of young talents, export suppliers and other government and non-government sectors across Asia.
At the University, Vu was a part of the organizing team of the 2015 CUHK CSR Conference and formed a team that raised 40,000 Hong Kong Dollars for the poor residents through Swire’s Santa Operations.
One of the precious things he has learned from the Foundation that has helped him move forward is the ability to find and convey passion in even in his smallest actions
